What's up with Twilight?

I don't know, I'm a girl and I don't find it degrading, I just don't like it. I just don't see what's so captivating about it. It's about some normal blah girl and she falls in love with a faerie. (He's a faerie, right? I haven't 'seen' him kill anybody and he sparkles) so just let the teenagers have their little fantasy.
