If a woman loves her father more than her husband, how can the husband ever succeed in the marriage?
My father in law is wealthy, retired from a medical career, in his college hall of fame for athletics, personally friends with government officials, and quite friendly. My wife loves him dearly, and rightly so. But I'm more of a quiet perservering introvert, who has some money but also some weird talents and interests. I'm also kind of forgetful and self centered. Will my wife ever respect me? If so, how? What do I need to do? I'll never be a better athlete than my father in law. And I won't ever really care about updating the battery in the smoke detector. It may look like I don't care enough...
